A Night at Citi

On Wednesday, I made my way to Queens to visit my friend BC. We had a quick bite to eat at Neptune Diner and then were off to Citi Field for the Mets/Cards game.

We met up with my other friend and walked around the new stadium. It’s definitely nicer than Shea though the absence of Mets memorabilia and inclusion of an homage to Jackie Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers seems curious.  The famed dining options of Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack and Blue Smoke are nice touches but the lines were ridiculous so we passed on them.

We took our seats and watched many a plane fly out of LaGuardia.

We also saw a home run fly out of the ballpark and the emergence of the Apple, though I was a little late in capturing the picture and only got it with the Apple returning to its home.

We were also graced by the presence of Cow-Bell Man.

In the end, the Mets clobbered the Cardinals 11-0. It was a fun time and the Mets have a great new home but I have to admit that I like the minor league experience better.
