The Bay via The Slope via The Lake?

August 11, 2009

We’re moving! Physically and virtually, that is. We’re leaving Brooklyn and headed to San Francisco in a couple weeks due to a job offer.  More to come on that….

New to me

July 5, 2009

I saw one of these cool Lego Architecture sets for sale at Barnes and Noble the other day. I thought it was really cool and hadn’t seen it before but I can’t tell if they are just coming out as based on their undeveloped website or if they’re no longer being produced as evidenced by someone selling it on eBay as a discontinued product. Either way, great brand extension for Lego.

Big Ups to Lil Lou

June 27, 2009

Can’t believe it will almost be a year since we got him. And that we thought about getting a Wii instead

For more on this little guy, check out his site here.

Viral Saget?

June 21, 2009

I’ve noticed a bunch of Bob Saget images plastered across Park Slope (see pic below). What gives? Probably just some kids having fun but it reminds me of the Andre the Giant street art campaign.

A Visit to the Bronx Zoo

June 21, 2009

The other day my wife and I rode the #2 train all the way up to the Bronx Zoo.

We had a good time and it was a pretty nice zoo but not as nice as I thought it would be. My wife said it wasn’t as good as the San Diego Zoo and I would argue that the Lincoln Park Zoo back in Chicago (though smaller) could even be better and it was free!

I didn’t like that the Bronx Zoo charged extra fees for some of the attractions over and above the $15 entrance fee. Plus, some of the exhibits weren’t maintained that well. Nevertheless, it was good to check it out.

One Scary Fish

Saw this at a seafood store in Chelsea Market…

The High Line and A Salt and Battery

June 17, 2009

Today, we met up with our friends B&L for some lunch at A Salt and Battery – a fish and chips place in the Village.

Afterwards, we checked out the High Line, the new park built on old elevated tracks. Here are some pics.

Back to Blogging and btw, How F’in Crazy is NYC?

May 17, 2009

The blog posts have been few and far between lately as I’ve been super busy with work, looking for new work, putting on a panel event for my alma mater b-school and other random things…

We went to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands last week to blow off some steam and upon our return to this island, some crazy stuff has happened: 1) I saw a woman faint on the 3 train southbound to Brooklyn; 2) I witnessed a Fresh Direct truck hit a car at the intersection of 7th Ave. and 16th St. in Park Slope; and 3) our puppy was bitten by another dog!

Spring in Park Slope

April 19, 2009

Yesterday we spent as much of the day outdoors as we could – going to Prospect Park as well as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. A few pics are below and for more check out the Flickr set here.
